ok, this is NOT a review or current event, however, when I saw it, I wanted to post it. Very nifty stuff (at least, I thought so!)

Did You Know...
- The average human body gives off enough heat in thirty minutes to bring a half gallon of water to boil (if we could concentrate that heat). (shouldn't this help when people are dieting? Just wondering!)

- Las Vegas, Nevada is the brightest man-made place, when viewed from space.

The New Face of CoverGirl is Dania Ramirez!

Dania Ramirez has just signed on as the newest face of CoverGirl, and she’s talking first to PEOPLE.com about joining the illustrious brand. The 29-year old beauty, best known for her role as Maya on Heroes, jokes that while her deal may have just come to fruition this summer, in her mind “it’s been in the works my whole life. I’ve always dreamed of being a CoverGirl.” Not that it’s always been an easy path for the Dominican Republic-born actress. She tells PEOPLE that she’s especially excited about becoming a CoverGirl spokesmodel because, “I’m bringing my story, a story of struggle and hard work. Not speaking the language [when I got to America] and trying to figure out my definition of beauty, you learn to recognize the beauty in all of us. It takes a strong person to get where I’ve got.” But of course, that doesn’t mean that Dania doesn’t love the girlier things in life, like her CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain. “If I could walk around telling people how great it is, I would!” she enthuses. “It adds color to your lips and lasts so long, but doesn’t make [your lips] sticky.” We think that having someone this stunning star in print and television ads, starting January 2010, should do the trick! Phillips tell Oprah that she had sex with her father John Phillips.

"I had sex with my own father," the website quotes her as saying. She says he shot her up with drugs and raped her. When she confronted him about it, she writes in her memoir, she said "We have to talk about how you raped me." He responded, "You mean when we made love?"

John Phillips passed away in 2001.

Phillips book, "High on Arrival," hits stores this week.

During the 2008 presidential election campaign, Whitman helped with former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney’s campaign, before joining Senator John McCain’s campaign.

Fishkill Correctional Facility - Plaxico's New Temporary Home

We've learned Plaxico Burress arrived at Rikers Island jail in New York at 1:20 PM ET, this according to Deputy Commissioner for NYC Dept. of Corrections Steve Morello.

We're told Plax's stay will be a short one -- he'll be shipped off tomorrow to his next destination ... Fishkill Correctional Facility.

While Plax is behind bars at Rikers, we're told he'll be staying in an individual cell -- meaning no cell mate -- which includes a mattress, sheet and blanket, drinking cup, faucet, toilet, toilet paper and soap.

Also, we're told Plax will shower separately because of his celebrity status -- so he can drop the soap all he wants.

Khristine Eroshevich and Sandeep Kapoor Responsible for Anna Nicole's Overdose

A pharmacist told Anna Nicole Smith’s internist, Khristine Eroshevich that the drugs she prescribed for Anna five days after her son died were “pharmaceutical suicide.”

Trial documents have revealed that Anna Nicole Smith’s doctors (Khristine Eroshevich and Sandeep Kapoor) were warned by three pharmacists in Los Angeles about the prescription drugs.

Trial documents have uncovered the role that Smith’s doctors, psychiatrist Khristine Eroshevich and internist Sandeep Kapoor, had in Anna Nicole Smith’s death overdose in February of 2007.

The two physicians, Smith’s boyfriend and attorney Howard K. Stern pleaded not guilty on May 13 to conspiring to illegally provide Anna with controlled substances. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for next month.

The trial documents also revealed that the two physicians had sexual contact with Anne Nicole Smith, a former Playboy Playmate.

Trial documents stated that the first prescription request for drugs asked for two sedatives, 300 tablets of methadone, a muscle relaxer, an anti-inflammatory drug and four bottles of a strong painkiller.

Turf Toe? Huh?

Turf toe is the injury to the base of the big toe. The ligaments of the big toe are stretched or torn lightly resulting in pain, swelling and difficult in walking. The turf toe is common in athletes who are involved in sports such as football. The word “turf” comes from the artificial turf, as athletes are prone to such injuries on such hard surfaces.

Turf toe is usually caused when you train on hard surfaces. Actions such as pushing the toe repeatedly while playing sports or jamming the toe against a hard object can cause turf toe.

Symptoms of Turf Toe:

• Pain
• Swelling
• Stiffness
• Difficulty walking

Treatment of Turf Toe:
Turf toe might seem like a minor injury, but it can take several weeks out of an athlete’s training program. If you have a turf toe, you should take rest for about 3 weeks or more. This will to bring down the pain and swelling. The treatment includes the following:

• Resting the toe
• Elevating the toe to relieve the pain of the big toe
• Icing the area for 5 minutes and repeating it 2 to 3 times
• Taking anti-inflammatory medicines to reduce the pain and inflammation

If the pain is severe, you can consult a doctor. Your doctor would take physical examination or X-rays to ascertain the extent of the injury and detect fracture. He/she might apply a tape or sole inserts to limit the movement of the big toe.

Once the turf toe is diagnosed, the prescribed treatment should be followed to reduce the pain and inflammation. Once the pain subsides, the athlete or person can return to the normal activities.

Monica Hansen, The New Face of Raser Technologies 100 mpg Hummer

There is a plug-in hybrid called the Hummer H3 being developed by a company called Raser Technologies, in conjunction with FEV. Raser Technologies is a Provo, Utah based energy technology company focused mainly on geothermal power development and also has long range plug-in hybrid vehicle solutions (PHEVs). Originally introduced by Raser as their “E-REV” powertrain at the 2008 SEA International World Congress (E-REV is similar to the power behind the upcoming Chevy Volt, except it was designed for large trucks and SUVs). Raser showed off the technology at the ‘09 SEA in Detroit, in a H3 Hummer that boasts 100 mpg based on 65 miles of driving (with the first 40 miles driven in all electric mode).

Monica Hansen, former Miss Norway, had sued her plastic surgeon, Dr Leonard M Hochstein, for improperly using her breast augmentation photos for his practice.

Monica Hansen is no saint, a PlayBoy model, she has modeled in bikinis, topless and even more in her line of work. She has also modeled for Maxim, Esquire and Stuff magazines.

“I think [Hansen] just wanted a way to get money out of me,” said Dr. Hochstein, from Miami, where he’s also known as “The Boob God.” reports NYPost.

Monica Hansen claimed Dr. Hochstein used photos of her breast implants in his business website ihochsteinmd.com without asking her permission.

Monica Hansen has won her lawsuit and was awarded $564, 555 in a default judgment.

Monica Hansen is a stunning Norwegian model who has graced the covers of Maxim, Esquire, and Stuff magazine. The 6’1” blond, who was named Maxim Woman of the Year in 2006, filed a lawsuit against her plastic surgeon for illegally using photos of her as a means to pump up his business.

The suit reveals that Dr. Leonard M. Hochstein used pictures of Hansen on his website lhochsteinmd.com. The pictures have been removed from the site, but Ms. Hansen says the damage has been done. She never gave her consent, and is suing for compensation for an ethical infringement on her rights.
